Happy New Year Everyone!

Well 2016 is now over and what a year it has been. My mother has got married, my sister engaged, we had the most incredible trip to Iceland and we got engaged. If you had asked me 12 months ago what the year held I wouldn’t have been able to predict how eventful it has been.
As is tradition for many people at this time of year I have decided to make a resolution to help drive me forward in the coming months and ensure it is another action packed adventure of a year. However, this year I don’t want to go for any of the usual stuff like lose weight, travel more or learn a new language (all of which I have done in the past). My New Year’s Resolution for 2017 is…

Confidence

Let me explain… In the coming twelve months I want to have more confidence in all areas of my life. With my language learning I want to have more confidence in speaking with people and being less worried about making mistakes as we all know this is how we learn. I also want to have more confidence with my writing and finally to try new things. I have never been afraid of new experiences but I tend to stick in my comfort zone. If I hadn’t stepped out of it this year I wouldn’t have experienced all the amazing things I did.

When I sit down and logically think about things I know I am perfectly capable of doing anything that I set my mind to but I am a worrier so that sometimes overrides my logic and causes doubt. The prime example I used for my capacity for new things is when I secretly learnt Italian for a surprise trip to Rome for my now fiancee. I had always wanted to learn a language, and tried unsuccessfully many times, but this time I just dedicated myself to it on a regular basis and saw fantastic results.

So the decision is made and the challenge is set. I would love to hear from you all about what your resolutions or goals for 2017 are. All the is left to say is Happy New Year and here is to another fantastic year ahead.

Ciao for now!
